Autism Awareness is about more than understanding differences — it’s about creating environments where children feel comfortable connecting, expressing themselves, and building confidence in social situations. That is exactly the goal of our upcoming Imagine, Create, Connect Autism Awareness Open House.

This special event is designed for children ages 5–12 and focuses on social connection, emotional understanding, communication skills, and creativity in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Move & Connect – Building Social Confidence

The morning begins with Move & Connect, a guided social experience where children participate in structured activities designed to build important social and communication skills.

During this session, children will practice:

  • Greeting and connecting with peers

  • Recognizing and expressing emotions

  • Taking turns and listening

  • Collaborating and encouraging peers

  • Sharing thoughts and feelings

These activities help children develop the foundational social skills that support friendships, classroom participation, and confidence in everyday interactions.

Creative Art Experience – A Treehouse for Everyone

After social activities, children will participate in a creative art experience called “Treehouse for Everyone.”

In this activity, children will imagine and design a treehouse that represents:

  • Creativity

  • Inclusion

  • Expression

  • Collaboration

  • Imagination

This activity encourages children to express ideas visually while also practicing communication, teamwork, and creative thinking.

Why Events Like This Matter

Many children, especially those with autism, ADHD, or social communication challenges, benefit from structured opportunities to practice social interaction in a low-pressure environment. Events like this allow children to build confidence while having fun and meeting new friends.

Our goal is to create a space where children feel comfortable being themselves while learning important social and cognitive skills.
